Director · Cinematographer · Camera Operator · Sound Supervisor

For more than a decade I have worked as a director, cinematographer, camera operator, and sound supervisor. With a background in audio engineering, I came to film through sound. On the path to directing I honed my craft over many years operating camera, studying light, and engaging with the visual mechanics of storytelling.
As a director, I know the roles of my crew with a firsthand knowledge. I believe the fundamental job of a director is to create the best possible conditions for the crew to do their best work. As much as this is about having a clear vision and the tools and skill to execute it, it is about working with people, understanding their role, goals, and challenges within the team, and fostering a spirit of unity and camaraderie on set.
Client Portfolio · 2019–2026
I worked closely with Gibson's in-house team across Gibson TV's first seven years. With nearly 200 credits overall, I served as director, second unit director, camera operator, first AD, and sound supervisor across the channel as we grew from our first product videos to hundreds of millions of views.
Client Portfolio · 2023–Present
I've served as director of photography and camera operator for several of Nadya Tolokonnikova's art films, installations, and actions, including the museum-collected Putin's Ashes and the 2024 Webby Honoree God Save Abortion.
Independent Commissions · 2010–Present
I've worked with many clients, from small bands to large brands. This is a limited selection of that work — commercial direction for Akai, multi-year camera operation for Desert Daze and the Festival of Tabla, and a range of other clients from the Recording Academy and BMI to the Adult Swim Festival on HBO Max.
Selected Independent Work · 2018–Present
I end up joining most of the bands I make music videos for. This is true of the work illustrated here. I play bass in TOMI, drums in Pom Poms, and was a longtime band member and producer for Spindrift. Each of these relationships started with a music video.
